This is an exchange that took place this morning over breakfast. I. had been complaining of a stomach ache.

I. to me: Is my head warm?
me: No
C. upon looking at the back of I.'s head: Your head's not open, it's closed.
I. to C.: Grown-ups have a way of feeling your head and they can see inside it to tell if you're sick or not.
