Falling in love

This is the time of year I start swooning over long-sleeved tees, boots, and jackets.

I lust after the spicy comforts of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves. The round glow of pumpkins gleam with pregnant anticipation. Apples are crisper, sweeter. The colors of fall - I've mentioned them all; apple red, pumpkin orange, nutmeg brown - are rich, vibrant, a fitting farewell to the garish yellows and blues of summer.

Fall is a warm quilt, a hot cup of cider, a cheerful fire in the hearth.

Every year I fall in love again.
