This was an utterly compelling, beautifully crafted story. I cried again, and again as I read it. It put a human face on the news I hear from Afghanistan every day, which is why I was interested in reading it. But more than that, it made me appreciate my own way of life as a woman with tremendous freedoms and blessings.
